High Performing Teams Service

Eager colleagues speaking enthusiatically together
What problem do we solve?

70% of crossfunctional teams or boards  have identifiable dynamic issues which limit success.  These manifest in ways which include:

  • Lack of follow through

  • Failure to complete projects or deliver benefits

  • Meeting lack spark, energy or constructive challenge

  • Siloed working within the team

  • No ownership of important issues

We can identify and remedy the causes of these issues and many others with groups motivated to improve.

How are we different?

We use an innovative model grounded in psychological principles, The 5x5 Model®, developed in partnership with industry leaders, benefiting from over 20 years of experience in organisational leadership and psychological practice.

Why should I care?

Our high performance programme provides deep insight into the essential functions and capabilities a team needs to thrive and continuously improve. Results start quickly and with the deeper understanding that this programme provides there are a broader set of benefits on offer to motivated teams or groups.  Moving beyond a specific challenge your team will  become an adaptable force for change, subsequently opening up a world of possibilities for further development, learning and growth.  We have controlled costs and time commitment to enable stretched teams to both afford and commit with confidence.

What’s Involved?

Step 1:  Exploration

All team members complete the Team Diagnostic Assessment, providing individual and group scores in 5 distinct domains of team functioning:

  • Intentional Culture

  • Psychological Safety

  • Team Alignment

  • Defined Team Structure

  • Collaborative Goal Setting

A Team Diagnostic Insight Report identifies areas for development and growth, ensuring targeted interventions that address key areas can be implemented immediately.

Step 2:  Empowerment

Team members participate in individual semi-structured interviews to gain a deeper understanding of team-based experiences, including exploration of team and organisational culture, team-based power differentials and dynamics, perceptions of leadership strengths and weaknesses and accountability.

Group discussions focusing on the Team Diagnostic Insight Report are initiated to generate alignment towards a shared purpose and intention, ensuring clear expectations of team-based interactions are agreed.

Step 3: Evolution

Team-building exercises aligned to the 5 domains of team functioning are incorporated to strengthen trust, appreciation, communication, understanding and alignment before targeted discussions related to identified areas of focus are initiated.  Strategic planning and collaborative goal-based discussions then provide a focus for implementation planning and accountability to ensure continued progress is maintained over short- and medium-timeframes.

Step 4: Evaluation

Team members complete Team Diagnostic Assessment a second time and paired outcomes are produced. Team-based discussions and individual semi-structured interviews are conducted to identify progress over the previous three steps.  Areas that have not yet improved or have been slow to change are identified, and barriers to progress are explored.  Collaborative goal-setting discussions lead to the identification of clear solutions to overcome these challenges.

Step 5: Embedding

Team-based discussions are focused on the experience of High Performing Teams, how team dynamics have improved and what is required to continue the improvement over the next six months.  Team members are invited to celebrate successes and feedback their experiences of the process and how team-based relationships have improved.  Subsequent follow-on sessions may be scheduled to ensure continual improvement is maintained.
